Storage & Handling

Proper storage preserves the integrity of Semax between experiments. As lyophilized powder, it is sensitive to heat, moisture, and light, and the documented conditions below reflect standard research-material handling. This is laboratory reference guidance, not a use protocol. For research use only. Not for human consumption, diagnostic, or therapeutic use.

Storing the dry material

Lyophilized Semax is most stable cold, dry, and dark. The documented condition is −20°C, desiccated, light-protected. Keep the vial desiccated and let it reach room temperature before opening so condensation does not form on the powder.

Handling on the bench

Minimize the time the vial spends at room temperature, avoid repeated warming and cooling, and keep it out of direct light while working. Peptides and research compounds degrade fastest when exposed to heat and moisture.

After reconstitution

Once reconstituted, Semax has a shorter stability window than the dry powder and is typically kept refrigerated and light-protected. Prepare only what a study needs and see the stability reference for detail.

Questions, answered

How should Semax be stored?

The documented storage condition is −20°C, desiccated, light-protected. Keep it cold, dry, desiccated, and protected from light.

Does Semax need refrigeration or freezing?

The dry material is documented for −20°C, desiccated, light-protected. Reconstituted material is generally refrigerated. See the stability reference.

Why protect it from light?

Light can accelerate degradation of research compounds. Light-protection is standard practice for preserving analytical integrity.

Is this a usage instruction?

No. It is laboratory storage-and-handling reference only. For research use only. Not for human consumption, diagnostic, or therapeutic use.
